We’re Happy in Hove, according to Rightmove
Rightmove’s ‘Happy at Home’ index, now in its 10th year, as ranked Hove as the 4th happiest place to live in the UK.
The Northumberland market town of Hexham took top spot, with Richmond-Upon-Thames in 2nd and Harrogate taking 3rd.
More than 21,000 residents took part and were asked to score their local area across 10 categories ranging from restaurants, shops and recreational facilities, to more emotional considerations such as whether they felt a sense of belonging and to what extent they feel they can be themselves.
Hove came top in the South East region (which excludes London) with Horsham coming in 2nd. Rightmove described Hove as “Brighton’s quieter, calm, seaside neighbour” – a description which no doubt makes it popular with many who have relocated to the south coast away from London in the last 18 months.
Brighton and Hove City councillor Dawn Barnett, said: “I’m not surprised by this announcement, Hove is a lovely place to live and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
Living in Hove is like being in the country, but also being just five minutes from the sea. Its peaceful, beautiful and tranquil with great schools, parks and very few problems. Its quite simply lovely.”
At Mortgage Medics our roots have been in Hove since we started out in 2007 and we couldn’t agree more. We love our loud, colourful neighbour Brighton, but sometimes we just want a bit of peace and quiet, and you can always find a piece of that in Hove.
Wherever you live, we hope you’re happy there and looking forward to a peaceful, relaxing Christmas. But if you’ve got plans on making a move in 2022 then get in touch or sign up to our monthly newsletter – we’d love to help you get the ball rolling on your plans.
