  • CeMAP Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice

    The industry benchmark qualification for mortgage advisers, recognised as a mark of excellence and professionalism. Individuals attain the required understanding of mortgage policy and practice and how to effectively apply this when advising a customer.

  • ER1 Equity Release

    This examination assesses a knowledge and understanding of the different types of equity release products, risks to the consumer associated with equity release and application of suitable equity release solutions according to the circumstances of different customers.

  • R07 Advanced Mortgage Advice

    Advanced Mortgage Advice (R07) develops knowledge and understanding of the key elements of the mortgage process, specialist types of mortgage lending and to test candidates' ability to give appropriate mortgage advice to clients with complex needs and circumstances.

  • MHFAider® Mental Health First Aider

    This course is ideal for individuals who would like to become an MHFAider® to gain the knowledge and skills to spot signs of people experiencing poor mental health, be confident to start a conversation and signpost a person to appropriate support.​

I joined Mortgage Medics in January 2016, and it was one of the best decisions I made.

I worked for Nationwide Building Society for more than 10 years before making the move to be a mortgage broker.

Since I provide whole-of-market advice, I’m able to find clients the best solution.

Over the years, I’ve specialised in residential purchases, buy-to-let purchases, portfolio landlords, and lifetime mortgages.

Michael outside of work

I’ve always lived in or around the Brighton area. I’m currently in Saltdean, with the beach and the Sussex Downs within walking distance, which is great for walking my Labradoodle, Hugo. (He’s named after the footballer Hugo Lloris.)

I love spending the weekends with my family, whether it’s taking my two daughters to ballet or taking them to a park and meeting friends.

We love socialising and often have friends and family over for BBQs and get-togethers at our house.

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:

Spending the day with the family and then getting to watch Spurs (hopefully winning) on TV.

My favourite holiday destination is:

Anywhere sunny, with a beach or pool and a good selection of cold beers.

My favourite song to play in the car is:

‘Feel So Close’, Calvin Harris.

The first album I bought was:

Willennium, Will Smith.

If I could be any fictional character, I would be:

Tigger.

If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:

Catching Maltesers in my mouth.

When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:

Eton Mess.

The three qualities that draw me to new people are:

Fun, funny, and interesting.

My pet peeve is:

Empty shower gel bottles by the bath…

The best gift I’ve ever received is:

Spurs tickets!

The three people at my dream dinner party would be:

Margot Robbie, Ricky Gervais, and Ange Postecoglou.

The three small things that make my day better are:

Getting a mortgage offer issued, no traffic on the roads, and decent coffee.

Three things I haven’t done so far include:

A holiday to Asia, a skydive, a football away day.
