Hi, we’re Helen and Richard. We’ve been clients of Mortgage Medics for 18 years.

Richard

We were let down in the first place by our original mortgage contact, and we were advised to see Sam, who was just starting out at the time. It was really nice, because we both started our journeys together, which was great. I found him very easy to get on with. I didn’t know anything about mortgages; he did, and he was brilliant, and he advised us in just the right way.

The initial feeling was absolute panic, because we really wanted to buy a particular property, and because we were let down, we went in and really needed Sam to guide us. We were looking for quite a hefty mortgage at the time, and didn’t know what was available. I was employed, but Richard was self-employed, so that threw up some challenges. He took us through all of the options in a very considered way.

Richard

I was genuinely worried about getting a mortgage for the first time because I had absolutely no idea how to go about it. It sounds silly when you think about it now as an adult, 18 years on, but at the time, it was so overwhelming, I couldn’t even imagine how we would go about the process. So, it was good from beginning to end that we had Sam with us, just to guide us through.

My friend Dan recommended Sam. They used to work together I believe, back in the day, it was a long time ago, and he couldn’t sing his praises highly enough. Dan said, “He’s completely trustworthy” and around that time, there were some really dodgy mortgages. But Sam was just completely straight down the line and really transparent and he just felt like a really safe pair of hands.

Richard

I’ve always found their communication to be absolutely top notch. He’ll get in touch with us when he thinks something is worth doing or worth changing. We are quite difficult to pin down, but he’s always been very patient with us, and very persistent if he thinks that we need to see him. We’ve seen a couple of his other guys as well, who have always been brilliant.

Helen

The brilliant thing about Sam was that he talked in layman’s terms and broke down all the complicated language and made it palatable and really easy to understand. And when talking about things like interest rates, payback and all these sorts of things that are not necessarily familiar, he was really brilliant at breaking everything down and making it all very easy to digest.

Richard

I love working with Sam and the team. It was nice going into the office and if we can’t go into the office, we’ll have a chat on the phone or something, but it’s always very easy going, and it never feels pressured.

If I had to use three words to try and describe Sam, I’d say patient, definitely. He’s unbelievably reliable, that’s two words, I know, but the reliable bit, and he’s trustworthy. Completely trustworthy, another two words but there you go.

Their process is really good because I appreciate they’re dealing with all sorts of lenders, and that can be quite challenging because often they’re doing a brilliant job of keeping their process on track and they’re at the mercy of other people that they’re dealing with. They’ve always kept us completely updated on where we are in the process in the status report.

Richard

I would definitely recommend Mortgage Medics and we have done many times over and over again. I wouldn’t even question it. Even if people think they’ve got the right person, I always say, “Well, maybe try Sam just in case. Have a word and see what you think.”
