How much is my home worth? It is a question homeowners ask themselves on a regular basis.

In these tough times a lot of people are finding that the price of their home is falling.

The property market has been hit by the Bank of England’s 14 interest rate hikes between December 2021 and August 2023 which pushed mortgage rates to a 15-year high.

The cost of borrowing is simply too much for many people who would love to buy their first home or move to a new dwelling.

Price rises

However, it is not all bad new across the board, as a number of local authority areas have seen price rises.

Also, these are the properties selling the quickest now on the market.

Additionally, UK house prices showed a surprise rise in October. The increase was likely due to a lack of new homes being marketed, rather than a turnaround in the market, but it is a slice of good news for homeowners.

In the wider economy the UK’s annual inflation rate fell sharply to 4.6% in October on the back of cheaper gas and electricity, its lowest level for two years.
