I have an economics degree from the University of Sussex. Career-wise, I’ve been giving mortgage advice since 2014, initially with NatWest, before moving to Mortgage Medics in 2017 to offer whole-of-market advice.

As Head of Mortgage Services, as well as giving advice and working with clients, I also manage the team of advisers in the business and ensure smooth running of the day-to-day business operations.

The three things I love most about my job are talking to people and finding out about them, helping people, and solving problems.

The types of people I most enjoy working with are open and friendly.

Gareth outside of work

I’m a dad to three young daughters. They keep me pretty busy at home.

We like to play games, go to the park, ride bikes, watch cartoons, and sing songs, among other things.

At Emirates Stadium with a beer or two.

My favourite holiday destination is:

Nashville. My partner and I went there as part of our honeymoon, and it was a really fun place.

My favourite song to play in the car is:

‘Chop Suey!’, System Of A Down.

(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?, Oasis.

If I could be any fictional character, I would be:

Sterling Archer.

If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:

Obscure football knowledge from between 2000 and 2010.

When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:

Tiramisu.

The three qualities that draw me to new people are:

Smiling or happy, nerdy, and funny.

My pet peeve is:

People looking at their phones when you’re trying to talk to them.

The best gift I’ve ever received is:

PlayStation 2 with Grand Theft Auto III.

The three people at my dream dinner party would be:

Ray Parlour, Dave Grohl, and Will Ferrell.

The three small things that make my day better are:

Good music, a nice lunch, and air conditioning.
