Qualifications

  • FPC Financial Planning Certificate

    A recognition offered by the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom. Individuals who hold this qualification have satisfied coursework and testing requirements set by the organisation.

  • Certificate in Equity Release

    The level 3 certificate in Equity Release meets the FCA’s requirement for mortgage advisers and those advising on equity release schemes. In addition to developing advisory skills, the Certificate offers an understanding of equity release regulation, products, market practice, and customer needs.

Following a five-year career in retail banking with NatWest, I began working in financial services in 1984 when I joined Pearl Assurance. While there, I gained a good grounding in all areas of insurance.

I began concentrating on mortgage and protection advice in 1989, so I now have more than 40 years’ experience in financial services.

At Mortgage Medics, my role is to advise and assist new and existing clients in their search for finance for their homes. This might be on a residential or buy-to-let basis.

Jon outside of work

I enjoy watching all types of sport. Until recently, I was a part of the management team behind Woking Women FC. I regularly watch the team play, both at home and away.

I have two young grandsons who take up most of my spare time.

Pineapple on pizza.

Paul Weller, Paul McCartney, and Liam Gallagher.

The small things that make my day better are:

My two grandsons, and chatting about football.

Things I haven’t done so far include:

Hang gliding, hot air ballooning.
